I bought this anthology for Lora Leigh and Angela Knight. Both stories were very satisfying. In Lora leigh's addition we are given Hawke and Jessica's story. It takes place about a year after Jessica was caught betraying the Breeds. For such a short story, I felt like I was still given another great slice of life with the Breeds. Its christmas time and Hawke has been waiting long enough for suspicions and anger against Jessica to die down. He is ready to claim his mate. Hawke was very romantic for a wolf under the mating heat. At first I thought that Lora Leigh was making the stories more tame or taking away from the mating heat but then I remembered that the breeds have gotten better with the hormones and medicines they've created to deal with the mating heat. The sex was still spicy Leigh style and the plot concerned the council and the drug they've created that hides their scents. I am fascinated by how this author is going through the plot and giving us a great story line...

Well done erotic scenes with good stories. There were two couples in the story. One couple was a female professor and her student - a forbidden relationship, yet they couldn't stay away from each other. I was melting with the way they used food. The tasting and feeling of food was sensual and sexual. A second couple involved a woman who needed to be commanded and taken over. Gideon did that. He was mysterious and secretive. There was almost no talk early in their relationship. For their first encounter, he saw her, grabbed her hand, and took her into a janitor's closet without a word before or after. He told her what, where and when to do things. They had sex in public places with a risk of being seen. Their relationship was also well done. I had trouble deciding between 4 or 5 stars for Amazon. I rounded up to 5 since I would definitely recommend buying it, for someone looking for good erotic scenes. Note for some readers: there is one scene...

Although I am not much of a fan of anthologies, since the short excerpts are frustrating, this collection of some great Victorian erotica was fun to read .....

There are 19 books excerpted here with most of the stories running from five to twelve pages, and the book weighs in at 319 pages ... I have read some of the full books in this volume but there were still a couple that I had not seen before.

Most certainly during the Victorian era the sex and erotica was varied, and many of today's taboo's were unknown to a people that had little to occupy their minds and bodies other than enjoy the pleasures of the outdoors, gardens, food and last but not least their libidos. Although erotic spanking and bondage was known to the Victorians we see very little of the violent BDSM in their literature. This is and important distinction since it makes it easy for a 'normal' reader to vicariouosly enjoy the wonderfull mind painting the authors detail.
