Full disclosure: I wrote one of the 29 stories in this fabulous collection of short fiction pieces & personal essays about us oldies doing it. But I have no vested interest in declaring my admiration for the book. The marvel of it is how un-limiting the rubric is. Yes, all the stories are about folks over 50, but aside from repeated references to gray hair, bellies, & pharmaceuticals, and a very welcome humanity reflecting editor Joan Price's values, variety is the thing. Isn't that news, and great news? Despite some of the predictable changes of age, we don't lose our individuality and get folded into a silver blur.
